They are a movement of artists, musicians, food makers and music lovers on a mission to end hunger in vulnerable communities nationwide. Known for their ‘Art That Feeds’ Food Drives at concerts and music festivals across the country, Conscious Alliance also works with food brand partners to rescue excess food products from going into landfills and reroutes it to families in need. Conscious Alliance has been feeding people through music and art for the past 20 years, growing from a grassroots movement to a national hunger relief organization. They hosted their first Food Drive with The String Cheese Incident at the Fillmore Auditorium in Denver in March 2002. Food from their first Food Drive was delivered to Pine Ridge Reservation in South Dakota which has the lowest per-capita income in the entire country. In addition to their ‘Art That Feeds’ Food Drives, Conscious Alliance works with over 70 food brands to accept large-scale product donations. Conscious Alliance handles the trucking and logistics to transport these donations to from manufacturer warehouses to food banks, community organizations and schools nationwide. They worked with World Central Kitchen during the pandemic and after the Marshall Fire in Colorado to bring fresh, restaurant-prepared meals to families in need.
Each year, Conscious Alliance hosts a series of free meal giveaways including a bi-annual distribution with Chance the Rapper’s nonprofit organization, SocialWorks and Discover Card in Chicago, their annual Holiday Meal Delivery to distribute turkeys and dinner sides to schools along the Front Range, out-of-work music industry professionals and on Pine Ridge Reservation in South Dakota. They have a long-standing relationship with Pine Ridge where they house their own food pantry, distribute food through local schools and coordinate garden programs to increase access to fresh vegetables. Since inception, Conscious Alliance has distributed 9,580,687 meals to families in need across the country.
