AJ Lee & Blue Summit’s latest single “I Can’t Find You At All” is quite the family affair for Blue Summit guitarist Sullivan Tuttle. His sister, GRAMMY Award-winning guitarist and singer Molly Tuttle, joins Lee on vocals for a heartbreaking performance of the song written by none other than Sullivan and Molly’s father, Jack Tuttle. “After working a bit on lyrics for my daughter Molly’s unfinished song called ‘Don’t Try to Find Me,’ I decided to flip the script and write one from the other viewpoint,” says the elder Tuttle. “I guess, in modern parlance, it’s a song about being ghosted.”

Sullivan and Jack turned in a dejected classic—not too far off from the vein of “I’m Blue, I’m Lonesome” or “Blue Train”—and the band put their signature spin on it. Bringing life to the song’s melancholy with a halftime backbeat mandolin chop and atypical movement from the upright bass, Lee & Summit continue to showcase their abilities beyond the world of straight-ahead bluegrass music. “You vanished in thin air / And you thought I wouldn't care / But you were oh so wrong / Through the window now I stare / But I can't see you at all,” sing Lee and Tuttle in the refrain; a somber lyric with a hopeful melody.

Produced by The California Honeydrops’ Lech Wierzynski and releasing July 19th via Signature Sounds—making it the band’s first label-backed record—City of Glass finds Lee & Blue Summit still carrying the youthful, festival-parking-lot energy that brought them together, but with the genuine ease and confidence of recording artist veterans well beyond their years.
