Dynamic multi-instrumentalist and vocalist, Andy Hall, of The Infamous Stringdusters has announced the release of his upcoming solo album Squareneck Soul available on June 23rd via Americana Vibes. Today, Hall has released “Up in Bigfoot Country,” the stirring, upbeat lead single that showcases his precision and dedication to his craft. Listeners can get a taste of his virtuosity and compositional prowess by viewing a play-along clip HERE.
Hall is joined by Sierra Hull (mandolin), Bryan Sutton (guitar), Wes Corbett (banjo), and Travis Book (bass) on "Up in Bigfoot Country." In his first solo release in almost 15 years, Squareneck Soul will feature 10 instrumental bluegrass songs with a guest feature appearance from acclaimed bluegrass sensation, Billy Strings. Of the release, Hall shares, "Squareneck Soul is truly a project from my heart and my soul. A slide guitar record 15 years in the making. It’s a collection of original instrumental tunes designed as a template for bluegrass improvisation. I think of it as a musical playground for some world-class pickers!”
In addition to being a founding member of the GRAMMY-award-winning bluegrass act, The Infamous Stringdusters, Hall has maintained an active career through his solo and teaching endeavors. His 2008 release The Sound of Slide Guitar won the IBMA award for Instrumental Album of the Year and he has since released four additional solo albums leading up to the release of ‘Squareneck Soul.’ Outside of performance, Hall has amassed a steadfast roster of online students via the Artistworks teaching platform where he gives private lessons and shares resources such as guitar tabs, backing tracks, and more. Outside of his work with The Infamous Stringdusters, Hall has shared the stage with a wide range of artists including Dolly Parton, Wynona, Emmylou Harris, Earl Scruggs, Ryan Adams, Zack Brown, Charlie Daniels, Jack Black, Rodney Crowell, and many others.
