Annapolis Baygrass will feature top local and nationally touring bands, as well as artists-at-large, across two alternating stages. Since its inception, Baygrass has delivered some of the best festival lineups in the country, and 2025 promises to be better than ever. Previous lineups have included Oteil & Friends, The Infamous Stringdusters, Leftover Salmon, Sam Bush, Yonder Mountain String Band, Railroad Earth, Keller & The Keels, Melvin Seals & JGB, Fruition, Cabinet, Kitchen Dwellers, Sierra Hull, Daniel Donato’s Cosmic Country, Cris Jacobs & Friends, The Dirty Grass Players, The Baygrass House Band Geraldine, and more. Artists-at-large have included Lindsay Lou (2023) and The BayBrass Horns (2024), featuring Natalie Cressman, Ron Holloway, and Jennifer Hartswick.

“The Baygrass selection process aims to foster unique artist collaborations and a diverse mix of music to excite a wide range of audiences. Our goal is to make it as fun and unique for the artists as it is for our amazing Baygrassers,” says Thom Bloom, Director of Talent & Programming. Bloom and John Way (Baygrass Co-Founder/COO and owner of The VA Way) continue to curate Baygrass lineups with exceptional talent, solidifying its status as a world-class event.

“We often say, ‘Baygrass is more than a music festival,’ and we proved that during our inaugural year,” says Ron Peremel, Baygrass CEO/Founder. “This concept came alive again in a big way in 2024. Our incredible lineup connected attendees with causes Baygrass is passionate about, including Bay conservation, sustainability, and mental wellness. A portion of every dollar spent on tickets, drinks, oysters, and merchandise supports our Bay conservation partners—Watershed Stewards Academy, Oyster Recovery Partnership, and Alliance for the Chesapeake Bay. In 2024, Baygrass raised over $32,000 for these nonprofits. This is what we mean by ‘Every Jam Saves the Bay.’”

“Baygrass organizers, volunteers, musicians, and attendees are taking the lead in sustainable festivation (a term coined by Planet Bluegrass). People recognize Baygrass as one of the cleanest and greenest festivals in the country,” says Co-Founder Ron Katz. “Attendees from 32 states and Canada gathered for this beachfront celebration in Annapolis, Maryland. We raised awareness for Chesapeake Bay conservation and mental health while hosting an environmentally responsible music festival.”

Environmental Director Walter Wright highlighted Baygrass’s efforts to eliminate single-use plastics. “Baygrass provided filtered water stations, reducing the use of approximately 8,000 plastic water bottles. Over 14,000 beers were sold without a single plastic cup! Attendees embraced reusable metal cups, including commemorative steel and aluminum options.”

Wright and a volunteer green team also managed compost collection, recycling, and separate oyster shell collection for replanting in the bay—over 18,000 shells were collected. Attendees were encouraged to bring reusable water bottles, carpool, or use Baygrass shuttles from local hotels and campgrounds.

Annapolis Baygrass Music Festival eagerly anticipates its return to Sandy Point State Park on September 20–21, 2025, continuing its mission to save the bay and minds through magical Baygrass lineups.
