After a slew of incredible singles, Anne Freeman has shared her new album, Keep It Close. The incredible singer-songwriter from Oxford, Mississippi invokes comparisons to Alvvays and Camera Obscura, but infuses their dreamy sounds with a unique twang all her own. She's a songwriter that captures millennial anxieties as deftly as she moves between power pop, blues and heartland rock
In her own words -
"My vision for Keep It Close was to create a nostalgic pop record centered around heartfelt melodies. I recorded it over the course of a few days in Mississippi and attempted to generate my own sound by blending different genres and artists that inspire me. Some of these songs are personal, while others are completely made up. I wanted this album to be relatable and feel familiar, yet evoke new emotions for listeners.
Her new album Keep It Close is out today via Muscle Beach Records.
