Southern California’s premier live music, art, and culinary event BEACHLIFE FESTIVAL, taking place May 3-5, 2024 on the picturesque waterfront in Redondo Beach, CA, is announcing the exciting line-up for the SpeakEasy Stage. Offering a unique opportunity to experience rock legends and Southern California punk staples performing reimagined stripped-down versions from their catalogs, SpeakEasy is an intimate experience that can only be found at BeachLife’s signature laid-back, oceanfront setting. DMC World Champion Mix Master Mike of the Beastie Boys, Warren Fitzgerald of The Vandals, Jen Pop of The Bombpops, Scott Reynolds of ALL, Kevin Seconds of 7 Seconds, and Chase Petra, among others, will take the stage.
The SpeakEasy Stage is developed by BeachLife Creative Director Jim Lindberg. Lindberg, a pioneer of the West Coast punk scene as frontman for Hermosa Beach-based group Pennywise, conceptualized SpeakEasy to integrate some of LA’s hardcore spirit with the easygoing nature of the festival.
“This year at the SpeakEasy Acoustic stage were continuing to bring you legendary punk rock performers like my good friends Kevin Seconds of 7 Seconds, Warren Fitzgerald of The Vandals, Scott Reynolds of ALL, and Jon Snodgrass of Armchair Martian and Drag the River! We also have hometown hero Robert Hecker of Redd Kross and his new band It’s OK!” Lindberg shares. “And finally, we are way beyond stoked to announce we are adding an evening DJ set to the SpeakEasy, and we’re kicking it off Grand Royal style by having the legendary Mix Master Mike of the Beastie Boys manning the decks and getting everyone up and hitting the dance floor! So yeah, we're going next level this year, and as usual, the SpeakEasy corner of BeachLife is going to be the place to be.”
