Borderland Festival is returning to Knox Farm State Park, September 18th-19th for 2 days of music, food, beer, crafts and more. The festival was cancelled in 2020 and is looking forward to it’s grand return to celebrate summer, community and of course music. Borderland will host more than 20 bands on three stages with a diverse mix of national and regional, rock, country, Americana and roots artists. The stage will be set at the historic Knox Farm Stables featuring artisans, vendors, live painting, local craft beer, food and culinary experiences at one of the most scenic and storied grounds in New York State with gates opening at 11am each day.
“We are beyond thrilled to be returning this year to Knox Farm and can't wait to create another incredible experience for our loyal fans. We will have local vendors and artisans, a kids area and a Sunday football zone near our Homespun Stage where local bands will perform. You can always expect surprises with amazing national, regional and local musician collaborations.” shares festival producer and owner Jennifer Brazil.
The line up is filled with incredible artists ready to bring music to fill the air at beautiful Knox Farm State Park. Headlining the 2021 festival is Jason Isbell and the 400 Units, The Revivalists and also features Pigeons Playing Ping Pong, The Infamous Stringdusters, Moon Taxi, Hiss Golden Messenger plus many more.
“Jason Isbell is one of the best performers and songwriters of our generation and we are so excited to be able to bring him to Buffalo. The Revivalists believed in our vision the first year of our festival and we thought it would be really special to have them back to celebrate the end of this long year. We can't wait for them to bring that unparalleled energy back to our stage. We believe that if you set the right vibe and bring the bands who align with your vision, you will always knock it out of the park” says Brazill.
The festival is filled with the highest level of talent. Filling out the line up and hailed as “musical explorers” by Rolling Stone, Pigeons Playing Ping Pong are on the rise in the jam scene, selling out two nights at Town Ballroom in past years. Cam began her career as a songwriter, composing material for several artists including Sam Smith and Miley Cyrus and made her way to national festivals such as Austin City Limits, Lollapalooza and Outside Lands in San Francisco and is rising on the country charts. A virtuosic, award-winning guitarist with a gift for insightful songwriting, Molly Tuttle was the first woman to win the Bluegrass Music Association's Guitar Player of the Year award. Also adding to the bluegrass vibe, The Infamous Stringdusters are grammy award winners for Best Bluegrass Album in 2018. The festival also collaborated with The Big Easy of Buffalo to bring New Orleans legend John “Papa” Gros from Papa Gros Funk.
