Clay Street Unit, the Denver-based sextet, release their cover of The Last Revel’s tune, “Engine Trouble” today on all platforms. The track was recorded at Mighty Fine Productions in Denver, CO, produced by Chris Pandolfi of The Infamous Stringdusters, mixed by Sean Sullivan (Sturgill Simpson, Molly Tuttle) and mastered by Anna Frick at ally sound. Earlier this year, the band recorded a brand new album with Pandolfi at the helm and chose this long time live staple to get dialed in to the studio. While the song wonʻt be on the upcoming record, the results were too good not to release. Their debut full length album will be released later this year.
The band is rooted deep in homegrown southern Country/Folk and branches into the bluegrass sound that’s heard throughout the Appalachian hills. With just a 4 track self released EP out until today, the band is making considerable strides in their career on the strength of powerful songs and an undeniable live show. Clay Street Unit’s touring calendar is filling up with multiple notable festivals including WinterWonderGrass in Steamboat and Tahoe, Blue Ox, Rooster Walk, Beaufort, The Caverns Sessions in Pelham, TN and more tour dates soon to be announced.
Their first show of the year is tomorrow at Mission Ballroom, opening for The Infamous Stringdusters along with Lindsay Lou. Fans can expect a few sit-ins, given the recent studio collaborations.
