On a Grateful Dead National Holiday (May 8), touring juggernaut Dark Star Orchestra announces today their plans to return to the Jewel Paradise Cove in Runaway Bay, Jamaica for their eighth annual “Jam in the Sand” oceanside festival January 14-18, 2020. Featuring four nights of two-set shows from Dark Star Orchestra, the event will also host three shows from each of the special guests: Melvin Seals & JGB along with Donna the Buffalo. The all-inclusive festival includes all meals and drinks at the gorgeous Jewel Paradise Cove Resort & Spa Runaway Bay, a scenic oceanfront location offering multiple restaurants and bars to ensure fans are always be able to find the meal or cold beverages they desire.
The presale will start Monday, May 13 at 9am ET and will last until 11:59pm ET on Tuesday, May 14. All returning guests from the past two years will be receiving a token code from Island Gigs that will be emailed to you later this week or weekend. DSO returns to the road Thursday for a run of shows that ends at their own, stateside festival: Dark Star Jubilee. The tour kicks off Thursday, May 9 at the Wilbur in Boston (where Jeff Mattson performed with Jerry Garcia’s Wolf guitar last time) winding through the Northeast hitting Long Island, Penn’s Peak, Washington, D.C., New Jersey, a pair of shows at the legendary Capitol Theatre in Port Chester, NY before heading west to Buffalo and then ending with a packed weekend at The Jubilee. The festival is held May 24-26 at Legend Valley in Thornville, Ohio featuring 3 nights of DSO plus Chris Robinson Brother, The Marcus King Band, Leftover Salmon, Billy Strings, Dumpstaphunk, Donna the Buffalo, The Lil Smokies and many more.
