Canadian indie/folk sensation Devarrow is about to embark on the final leg of his journey towards the release of his highly anticipated fourth studio album, Heart Shaped Rock. On September 4th, he'll unveil ‘Bus Baby’ the last single before the full LP drops on October 4th.

This penultimate single isn't just another track; it's a window into Devarrow's whimsical world. Born from an inside joke between himself and his partner that he’s having an affair with his converted school bus, 'Bus Baby' celebrates the artist's infatuation with his four-wheeled muse, now transformed into a mobile studio. Devarrow's signature blend of upbeat, folk-infused indie sounds takes an intriguing diversion here. For the first time, he introduces a drum machine, a nod to the song's solitary conception. 'Bus Baby' isn't just a love song; it's a rolling testament to finding joy in the mundane and music in the everyday. As the final teaser before Heart Shaped Rock drops, it promises an album that's a must-listen for fans of folk.

“It’s also the only song on the record to use a drum machine - a choice that comes from the fact that I was writing the song alone, and needed a steady beat to accompany me as I worked out the parts of the song.” he says of the song’s conception “Instead of fully replacing the programmed drums with Evan’s real ones, I decided to leave in the drum machine as a reminder of the song's origins. Another fun fact is that the bells you hear in the bridge are in fact me holding my two kittens up to the mic, and shaking their little collars”

Graham Ereaux, the musician behind Devarrow, wears many hats: songwriter, producer, carpenter, surfer, and nature enthusiast. Nestled in a quaint coastal town in rural Canada, his life and surroundings heavily influence his music. Self-described as “Carpenter-surf-folk-pop best listened to while driving down quiet rural roads or out to the beach,” his upcoming album Heart Shaped Box evokes echoes of Fleet Foxes, Noah Kahan, and Peter Bjorn and John. Infusing his music with a vibrant energy, he diverges from folk's typical sombre tone to celebrate life's simple joys against lively backdrops. His lyrics, inspired by routine and literature, blend heartfelt introspection with catchy melodies, providing a fresh lens on small-town Canadian life. Recorded at his DIY home studio, Devarrow embraces folk's depth, injecting it with new perspectives while honouring its origins, revitalising the genre in the process.

Listen to ‘Bus Baby’ across all streaming platforms from September 4th, whilst Devarrow’s fourth studio album Heart Shaped Rock is hailed for release October 4th.
