Dopapod, known for their technical precision and improvisational composition, will embark on a stacked fall tour, starting with two nights at the legendary Brooklyn Bowl in Brooklyn, NY on September 10th and 11th, 2021. This band recently took a hiatus in 2018 to recharge. They are now back, fully energized and ready to deliver their signature mix of funk, jazz, bluegrass and electronica, all while balancing the darker tones of heavy rock. The jam friendly Brooklyn Bowl is the perfect venue to begin their ambitious schedule.
Formed at the Berklee College of Music in 2007, the band consists of Eli Winderman (keys, vocals), Rob Compa (guitar, vocals), Chuck Jones (bass), and Neal "Fro" Evans (drums). They have been crushing performances together for over ten years, including a number of shows this summer in Denver, Co, Lafayette, NY, and Asheville, NC, just to name a few.
Muscle Tough and Dogs in a Pile will be supporting Dopapod this weekend. Muscle Tough is a self-described "Futuristic Funk Fusion Trio" from Philadelphia, PA. They combine a heavily improvised blend of modal jazz, funk and psychedelia. New Jersey's Dogs in a Pile are an up and coming jam band playing originals rooted in psychedelia, funk, jazz and rock & roll. They are popping up on national festival bills, and incredibly talented considering much of the band is barely out of high school. Both bands are not to be missed, and open the possibility for one-of-a-kind sit-ins this weekend.
