Friends of the Yampa (FOTY) is proud to announce that the nonprofit’s Big Snow Bash fundraiser is going virtual this year on November 21 at 6:30 p.m. Thanks to a partnership with WinterWonderGrass, the event promises a night full of fun and entertainment, complete with town’s best band, Buffalo Commons, streaming LIVE from Old Town Pub. As part of this year’s fundraiser, an online auction will take place from 12 p.m. Nov. 15 to 12 p.m. on Nov. 22 at www.friendsoftheyampa.com (to donate please email info@friendsoftheyampa.com).

“Our fundraising goal for the event and online auction is $25,000, and thanks to a match grant from Might Yarrow Family Foundation, we have high hopes to exceed our goals,” says FOTY program manager Lindsey Marlow. “It should be a great, super fun event that benefits everything we do. Plus, there’s incredible gear to be found all week at our silent auction.”

Hosted live from Old Town Pub, the event will feature exclusive live and prerecorded music from Buffalo Commons as well as Andy Thorn (Leftover Salmon), national flatpicking champion Tyler Grant, Andy Hall (the Infamous Stringdusters), Daniel Rodriguez, Lindsay Lou, The Rev. Matt Rieger and Jake Simpson (The Lil Smokies) and more. It will also feature special guest appearances commenting on the importance of rivers, conservation, and the Yampa

Sponsored by Mighty Yarrow Family Foundation, Smartwool, Hala Gear, American Rivers, Fishpond and more, the Big Snow Bash is FOTY’s main annual fundraiser, with proceeds going toward the organization’s newly formed Youth River Camps, river monitoring programs, environmental and recreation advocacy, educational outreach, river cleanups, infrastructure improvements, Yampa River Awareness Project and more. Projects completed by FOTY in 2019 include the Yampa is Wild Mural, the co-founding of the Yampa River Fund with The Nature Conservancy, re-treeing projects, and more.

In keeping with proper COVID-19 protocols, limited VIP in-person tickets will be available to members and the general public to see Buffalo Commons live at the event’s virtual staging hub at Old Town Pub.

“Come join us to celebrate a year of growth, progress, and an upcoming winter season of abundant snow and good times,” says Marlow.
