Mr. Hat Presents an evening with Jazz Mafia's Grateful Brass featuring Erin Honeywell, with very special guests Jefferson Bergey from The Freestone Peaches and Jules Leyhe, at the Ivy Room, East Bay, this coming Friday, April 19th. This event promises to be a magnificent celebration of the music of the Grateful Dead, reimagined with a vibrant brass twist.
Doors open at 8:00 pm, with the musical journey beginning at 8:30 pm with Jefferson Bergey and Jules Leyhe serenading the audience with a set of Allman Brothers and Grateful Dead classics. At 9:30 pm, attendees will be treated to a Setbreak Smokeout Giveaway, followed by two sets of Grateful Brass from 9:45 pm to 12:20 am, featuring lead vocalist Erin Honeywell and under the leadership of Adam Theis of Bob Weir & The Wolf Brothers fame.
Grateful Brass offers a fresh take on the iconic Grateful Dead discography, blending elements of New Orleans Second Line, Afrobeat, Balkan music, and Afro-Cuban rhythms with a solid foundation of funk. The band, led by renowned musician Adam Theis, includes some of the finest West Coast musicians who have deep connections with the Grateful Dead community.
