The North Carolina Folk Festival is excited to unveil the complete artist lineup for its 10th anniversary celebration, scheduled for September 6-8, 2024. This year’s festival will feature Grammy-nominated and Rolling Stones opener The War and Treaty, Grammy Award winners Los Lonely Boys, and North Carolina’s own (and regional favorite) MIPSO. The 2024 festival promises to be the largest yet, with over 45 bands performing across five stages over three days, all for FREE. This is truly the Ultimate Music Lovers Festival.
Los Lonely Boys is a trio of brothers, Henry, Jojo, and Ringo Garza, from San Angelo, Texas. Playing a style of music they call “Texican Rock n’ Roll,” Los Lonely Boys formed in 1996 and have combined elements of classic Rock and Roll, Texas Blues, brown-eyed Soul, Country, and Tejano music. Their debut single “Heaven” was a number-one hit on Billboard’s adult contemporary chart and reached the top 40 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 2004. Los Lonely Boys will perform at the NC Folk Festival on Saturday, September 7, 2024.
The War and Treaty are rising Billboard stars whose hit song “Hey Driver” with Zach Bryan scaled the charts last year. The husband-wife duo were nominated for a Grammy for New Artist of the Year, and performed at both the Grammy and the Academy of Country Music Awards ceremonies. They were also recently selected to open for the Rolling Stones in July. The War and Treaty will perform on Friday, September 6, 2024.
MIPSO was formed by UNC-Chapel Hill students who went on to draw a following throughout North Carolina and beyond, with tours across the country and in Europe. Their blend of Indie, Rock, and Americana is truly their own and always presents a great show. MIPSO will close out the festival on Sunday, September 8.
More than half of the festival lineup consists of North Carolina artists, including Holler Choir and Wild Roots Rising of Asheville, NC; Tae Lewis, North Carolina native and alum of NBC’s The Voice; and Rissi Palmer, host of the “Color Me Country” podcast, Durham resident, and Grand Ole Opry performer. Other performers hail from as far away as Oregon, Michigan, and Texas and represent diverse genres, including Celtic EDM, Bluegrass, Chilean Salsa, Americana, Country, Rap, Southern Rock, and Blues Gospel. Festival audiences can anticipate performances from the Psychodelics and Susto of Charleston, SC; Olive Klug of Portland, OR; and Bio Ritmo of Richmond, VA.
