Fans of the Grateful Dead have often heard unique and clever takes on some of the band’s biggest hits, but never one like this. Dale Ann Bradley, one of Bluegrass music’s top acts, has a new take on the 1970 track, “Ripple,” which has often been a favorite among the group’s fans.

As a 5-time IBMA “Female Vocalist of the Year” winner, Bradley has caught the attention of music masses with her heartfelt vocals, which have often led her to re-recording some of other genres biggest hits. Dale Ann says that she began listening to the Grateful Dead when she was in high school. The Kentucky native was a fan of the band’s “off the cuff” approach, having a Folk sound that was also Rock. Bradley calls the song “Ripple” a life philosophy when one gets to the end of the road.

Since beginning her music journey, Dale Ann has quickly become one of the most visible artists in the Bluegrass and Americana genres. Along with winning countless awards, including the 2019 “Female Vocalist of the Year” title earlier this year, the appeal goes much further. Earlier this year, Dale Ann was a Grammy finalist alongside her all-female band, Sister Sadie. This marked her second nomination, as she was previously nominated as a solo artist for “Best Bluegrass Album.”

Check out Dale Ann’s tribute to the Grateful Dead in the new video, which was shot in-studio, while the cut was recorded at Bonfire Recording Company in South Carolina. Included in the video is also Sister Sadie bandmate Tina Adair, who sings backup vocals on the track. “Ripple” is featured on Dale Ann Bradley’s latest project The Hard Way, released earlier this year via Pinecastle Records (check it out HERE)
