Pat Simmons Jr., an island-style musician from Maui, Hawaii, as well as a surfer, organic farmer, father, and cancer survivor, has released a music video for "Rust," a song off his award-nominated EP, This Mountain. Pat's music blends American folk-rock, country, blues, and reggae, and is flavored with a traditional Hawaiian influence. The video for "Rust" tells a beautiful visual story about a father sharing his childhood playground, the coastlines of Hawaii, with his son and features incredible surfing by the same crew of Maui surfers that Pat grew up with on the Northshore, including pro surfers Matt Meola, Billy Kemper, and Albee Layer. 

"Rust" was written and recorded by Pat Simmons Jr. and other notable musicians on the project include Pat's father, Patrick Simmons of The Doobie Brothers (guitar & BGV), John McFee of The Doobie Brothers (Dobro), renowned musicians Hutch Hutchinson (bass), Kris Thomas (Drums), and Guy Allison (Keyboard). With this song and music video, Pat hopes to raise awareness about the loss of coral reef habitats and coastal ecosystems due to climate change and industrial pollution. As a surfer, who spends more time in the ocean than most, Pat is on a mission to promote the protection of the Earth’s marine ecosystems for future generations.
