The new track, "Runaway Lover," drops on February 18th, marking the fourth release in Joey’s ambitious seven-single series leading up to a visually captivating EP. Recorded in the intimate setting of Sugarshack Studios, this session captures the dynamic energy and authentic talent of Joey Calderaio and The Future Buds. “My band, The Future Buds, and I recently recorded seven original songs at the Sugarshack Sessions in Bonita Springs, FL. We played some of my personal favorites as well as fan favorites. It was such an awesome experience—one for the books! It was one thing to watch the Shack on YouTube and another to be there in person to see how things roll. They really go all out to create an immersive experience for the listeners and go above and beyond to make the artists feel at home, which is quite literally what it is—Eddie’s house.
We had a blast arranging and performing these special acoustic versions of my originals. I think our session really captured the rawness and uniqueness in our sound that makes us stand out. My band brought a whole new life to my originals. Alex (keys) and Easton (lead guitar) both had epic solos on multiple songs. Harley (drums) keeps the beat going strong with precision and feel, keeping us in the pocket. Sam (bass and backing vocals) laid down the low end and sang harmonies seamlessly. Together, we really captured the essence of what makes our live performance so extraordinary and different from the studio-recorded versions.
