Denver-based jam-grass band, Morsel, has released “'Scuse Me Miss,” the second single off of their forthcoming album On a Bee Line due out on Americana Vibes on September 29, 2023. Produced by Chris Pandolifi of The Infamous Stringdusters, the album follows up a successful self-titled debut release presenting an elevated sound infusing blues, rock, country, and more into their already eclectic sound leaving listeners anticipating a colorful sonic palette by the rising band on the bluegrass and Americana circuit.
Bassist and vocalist Jack Kotarba reflects on channeling his inner Crosby, Stills & Nash in his decision to write a social commentary tune speaking to feeling adrift and disillusioned by the current state of world affairs, “I’ve had that intro progression for years and have tried to fit so many song variations around it but none seemed to fit. Just so happened I came up with my favorite version of the song around that progression right as we decided to make this album! Lyrically I kind of just said screw it, I’m pissed about the state of things.”
Formed during their college years at the University of Colorado Boulder, Morsel has cultivated a robust following in the Front Range area in Colorado solidifying headline shows in hometown venues such as Boulder Theater and The Fox Theater and supporting the likes of Molly Tuttle, Horseshoes and Hand Grenades, and Yonder Mountain String Band. On a Bee Line opens up the next chapter for the band as it illustrates the group's powerful songwriting that is its true soul: a cornucopia of catchy hooks, shimmering melodies, and thoughtful lyrics all delivered in a package that will make the most ardent bluegrass skeptic a believer. On a Bee Line can be pre-saved HERE.
