The Motet and Dopapod are thrilled to announce a co-headlining Fall Tour. The two bands will join forces for twelve shows throughout the months of October and November that will take them all along the East Coast and into the Midwest. No strangers to collaborating, both bands have sat in with each other numerous times, but this Fall Tour marks the first time both bands will be sharing an extensive bill.
Dopapod keyboardist Eli Winderman remarks, “This is a dream tour we’ve been wanting to make happen for years and it’s so exciting to finally have it come together. Not just because of the friendship between both bands over the years, but they’re all incredible players. It’s going to be a blast getting to hang and watch them kill it night to night.”
The Motet’s singer Lyle Divinsky agrees, “This is going to be all out musical mayhem fueled by the backbeat of love. These incredible men have been great friends of ours for a long time, and we cannot wait to see what kind of magic comes alive at these shows!”
Bridging the gap between retro funk & soul, while keeping a focused eye on the future of funk, The Motet has been touring in support of their latest single, Supernova. The recent addition of singer Lyle Divinsky, who joined the band in 2016, fans the flames of this already hot band. His sinfully soulful voice and rich lyrics are powerfully prevalent throughout Supernova and light up the performances of the 7-piece funk Powerhouse. The Colorado-based band just sold out Red Rocks for the second time this past June.
2017 has been a busy year for Dopapod and marked by the return of drummer Neal “Fro” Evans. As the original chemistry that laid the groundwork for bringing together a devoted, rabid fan base has been rekindled, the band has spent this year bringing their live show around the entire United States, all the while preparing material for their next release tentatively due out later this year. Over the past few years, the band has received high accolades from taste making critics like Rolling Stone who named Dopapod “one of the best kept secrets of Bonnaroo”. The Huffington Post notes their impact within the jam world as “exploding on the scene with their audience growing by the second”.
