Nicholas Jamerson has shared a new single from his forthcoming album release, Peace Mountain, arriving in full on May 19, 2023. The single, “I Love Blue,” performed with Maggie Noelle of Magnolia Boulevard, is available today on all digital streaming platforms. Yesterday, Holler premiered the track, lauding Jamerson “among an esteemed group of today's artists who have shaped, redefined and expanded the notions of Appalachian and Southern music.”

Arriving on the cusp of winter, the lovelorn duet adds a bluesy interlude to the palate of Peace Mountain, Jamerson’s 6th studio album. Strung together with the achingly expressive vocals of Kentucky based outfit Magnolia Boulevard’s own Maggie Noelle, the ballad encapsulates the ups and downs of relationships with a cold vibrato that lingers like a ghost. The single comes in follow up to the album’s haunting title track, “Peace Mountain”, which debuted last month and features Charles Wesley Godwin on vocals.

Formerly known as half of the Kentucky based duo Sundy Best, Jamerson is regarded as one of the most prolific songwriters of his generation. Over the span of his solo career, the Lexington native has released an expansive discography “that feel like unearthed recordings of secret threads in the history of American folk and roots music” (Holler). As Sundy Best, Jamerson has shared the stage with dozens of acts including Lynyrd Skynyrd, Steve Miller Band, and Chris Stapleton, performed on the coveted Ryman Auditorium stage, been featured on the Grand Ole Opry, and more. Today, Jamerson is proud to announce his inaugural Sleeping in the Woods Songwriter Festival, taking place May 19-20, 2023 in Lake Cumberland, KY on the bucolic property of Hidden Ridge Camping. The family friendly event will feature some of the best regional and national acts in the singer/songwriter and Americana genres, hand selected by Jamerson. A full lineup is to be announced soon, with blind tickets available for purchase in-person at The Burl in Lexington, KY.

Peace Mountain, set for release in the spring of 2023, picks up where Jamerson’s last record, The Wild Frontier left off. “The Wild Frontier was about finding faith; whereas Peace Mountain is about practicing faith and making peace with life, trusting that the work has been done, and enjoying the process,” Jamerson shares. The record is set for release on May 19, 2023. Three tracks from the forthcoming album, “Lexington,” “Peace Mountain,” and “I Love Blue” are available now on all digital streaming platforms.
