Following his widely successful breakthrough year, critically acclaimed Vermont singer and songwriter Noah Kahan receives a GRAMMY® Award nomination for Best New Artist.
After months of fans begging for a collaboration and following a surprise performance together in Nashville, today, Kahan finally joins forces with RIAA Diamond-certified Irish singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist Hozier for a new version of “Northern Attitude” out now—the latest release in his Stick Season (We’ll All Be Here Forever) collaboration series. Listen to “Northern Attitude” with Hozier HERE!
The fan favorite song soars to new heights, as the two troubadours’ voices blend together and culminate into a stadium-ready anthem as they belt out, “If I get too close and I’m not how you hoped, forgive my northern attitude, oh, I was raised out in the cold. If the sun don’t rise ‘til the summertime, forgive my northern attitude, oh, I was raised on little light.”
Noah says, “If you know me at all, you know this collaboration is something very deeply special and important to me. I used to sit down at the table with my guitar and just try to capture a fraction of the emotion and beauty that Hozier encapsulates in each song he writes. It never quite worked, but each song was better for trying. To have one of my heroes performing this song with me is something I’ll tell my grandkids, or at least my next dog.”
Hozier chimes in, “This song left an instant mark on me when I first heard it, I loved it immediately. I’ve had the great pleasure of getting to know Noah more since we first sang together at Iron Blossom Festival this year, and I’m so glad we could get together on this version of his beautiful song.”
“Northern Attitude” follows a slew of recent star-studded collaborations with Kacey Musgraves on “She Calls Me Back,” Lizzy McAlpine on “Call Your Mom,” and Post Malone on “Dial Drunk.” Not to mention, Noah teamed up with Zach Bryan on his song “Sarah’s Place,” and Olivia Rodrigo covered his Double Platinum-Certified “Stick Season” during her performance in the BBC Radio 1 Live Lounge—watch HERE. Kahan has also recently collaborated with a slew of artists on-stage, including Mumford & Sons, Gregory Alan Isakov, Wesley Schultz of The Lumineers, Nathaniel Rateliff of Nathaniel Rateliff & The Night Sweats, The Milk Carton Kids, Joy Oladokun, and more.
Surrounding the one-year anniversary of Stick Season’s original release, the breakout hit single has seen a massive resurgence on the charts as temperatures drop and “stick season” begins—climbing to the Top 10 overall on the Spotify Top 200 Chart in the US, UK, and Canada and peaking at #1 on the Spotify Top 200 Chart in Ireland. It’s also a greatest gainer on the Billboard Hot 100 Chart and Top 10 single on the UK Singles Chart. The beloved album recently re-appeared in the Top 10 on Billboard’s 200 Chart at #9, following a debut at #3 earlier this summer.
Noah has taken the highly successful, sold-out “Stick Season Tour” to Europe and the UK ahead of his highly anticipated 2024 “We’ll All Be Here Forever World Tour,” which has sold nearly one million tickets globally and will see him perform sold-out shows in stadiums, arenas, and amphitheaters around the world, including two nights at Boston’s Fenway Park, New York’s Madison Square Garden, Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena, London’s Wembley Arena, and more. See the full list of upcoming tour dates below.
Noah recently garnered two 2023 Billboard Music Award nominations in the “Top Rock Artist” and “Top Rock Album” categories, and The New York Times’ Popcast also dedicated an episode to his “Rootsy Rock Revival”—listen HERE.
Last month on World Mental Health Day, Noah proudly shared that his mental health initiative The Busyhead Project has excitingly surpassed its initial goal of “$1 million for mental health” and generated over $2 million dollars to date—with the purpose of creating a world where mental healthcare is acceptable and accessible for everyone. In July, Noah released Stick Season (We’ll All Be Here Forever), an extension of 2022’s Platinum-Certified Stick Season and his most successful offering to date. The deluxe version featured “Dial Drunk,” which peaked at #1 on both the Alternative and AAA Radio Charts in the US and currently sits in the Top 20 at Top 40 Radio and Top 15 at Hot AC Radio. The album debuted at #3 on Billboard 200 Chart, #1 on Top Americana/Folk Albums Chart, #1 on Billboard Top Alternative Albums Chart, #1 on Billboard Top Rock Albums Chart, and more. Impressively, Noah became the 5th artist in history with 18 songs on Billboard Hot Rock & Alternative Charts in one week, alongside David Bowie and Taylor Swift.
Stay tuned for more to come from Noah Kahan this fall!
