Translators of iconic music as well as innovative original material, Chicago’s Old Shoe, brings a classic live album back to life. With their good pal and very talented singer/songwriter on board, Chicago Farmer will accompany Old Shoe with his soulful renditions of Bob Dylan tunes. Both artists will pay homage to 1989’s Dylan & the Dead, a collaborative live album which was recorded while on a successful stadium tour of the same name in 1987. The show will consist of three sets, one of Dylan & the Dead material and an original set from each artist. Chicago Farmer will sing his songs of protest and share stories of Midwestern life, while Old Shoe will perform catchy originals from their brand-new album, Country Home. Chicago Farmer and Old Shoe have teamed up many times in the past, by performing at special events under the name of Shoe Farmer. This unique performance is sure to be a treat for any classic rock fan, as both groups are heavily influenced by these great entertainers.
Old Shoe is a five-piece Roots Rock n' Roll band based out of Chicago, Illinois. Made up of talented songwriters from across the country, hailing from as far away as Alaska, the band's compositions paint a diverse landscape of American life. Their nod to Dylan & the Dead will take place on Saturday, February 17th at Hodi's Half Note (167 N College Ave Fort Collins, CO). Tickets are $8 in advance / $12 at the door and can be bought through Ticketfly. Ages 18 and over are welcome to attend. Also sharing the bill is, The Mighty Pines, St. Louis’ own bluegrass- acoustic soul band. Doors open at 8 PM and the show will begin promptly around 9 PM with The Mighty Pines kicking things off. This performance is part of a mini tour, in which they will also bring this special event to Steamboat Springs the night before and to Denver on the 15th.
