The Peach Music Festival is almost upon us with over fifty artists scheduled to play. Located in the beautiful landscape of Montage Mountain near Scranton, Pa, the event takes place on June 30 - July 3rd. Created by The Allman Brothers, this year marks the festival's ten year anniversary, which includes a stacked line up of artists, private VIP shows, a water park, a pop up photo gallery for the legendary Grateful Dead photographer Jay Blakesberg, and much more. This year's headliners include heavy weights Billy Strings, Goose, Trey Anastasio Band, The Black Crowes, The Revivalists and Joe Russo's Almost Dead. In addition to music, this unique experience also includes a variety of food and vendors on site. Attendees will also have access to Montage Mountain's Ski Resort's water park, zip line, and ski lift rides. A photo gallery will be displayed at the Lodge displaying prolific live music photographer Jay Blakeburg's outstanding work. On Saturday July 2nd at noon, he will give an hour long Grateful Dead story telling presentation at the Lodge, which is sure to be as incredible as it is inspiring.
Special VIP sets will also take place for those with VIP tickets. The shows will occur above the water park in the Midland, complete with fire pits, a bar, and concessions. VIP Performances include Andy Frasco’s World Saving Podcast, Brandon “Taz” Niederauer with Kanika, the Cordovas, Daniel Donato, Dogs In A Pile, Duane Betts, Karina Rykman performing a DJ set, Kitchen Dwellers, and Maggie Rose.
The music begins on Thursday, June 30th, and is limited to two stages for the first day. Grammy winning bluegrass musician Billy Strings headlines with two sets on the Peach Stage. One man band Keller Williams and Trouble No More, performing the Allman Brother's Eat a Peach, are also scheduled for the Peach Stage. Emerging artist Yam Yam, residing in Harrisburg, Pa, will bring their unique blend of funk, jazz and r&b to the Groove Stage for a must see first night warm up.
Friday's throw down includes a double whammy of Eggy, 12 - 12:45pm on the Peach Stage and 9:45 - 11pm on the Mushroom Stage. Must see artists on the Peach Stage include The Bogie Band, two sets of Joe Russo's Almost Dead and a face melting late night set with Pigeons Playing Ping Pong. The Mushroom Stage features Eric Krasno & The Assembly, The Motet, and Andy Frasco & The UN.
Saturday's stacked line up begins with emerging jam rock artists The Cycles and One Time Weekend on the Groove Stage. Boston, Mass based Neighbor, Ripe and NYC's Brandon "Taz" Neiderauer will have sets on the Mushroom Stage. The Peach Stage includes heavy hitters like Jaimoe & Friends, The Revivalists, and Trey Anastasio Band followed by a special, fiery hot late night set with Goose, the rising indie groove squad from Connecticut. Will Trey join Goose on stage again this weekend?
Peach festival closes out earlier on Sunday than the prior days, with raging sets from The Word and The Black Crowes. The Word is a super group featuring Robert Randolph, John Medeski and members of the North Mississippi All Stars. Dogs in a Pile and Tauk round out the stacked line up on the Mushroom Stage. Two Disco Biscuit side projects are also on the Mushroom Stage, with Spaga featuring Aron Magner and Marc Brownstein's Star Kitchen. The Groove stage includes more goodness from the bluesy GA-20 and country rockers The Wild Feathers.
