Just yesterday, just two days ahead of their Red Rocks debut, Brooklyn's Pimps of Joytime release their lighthearted new music video for "Dance Cardia."
Directed by Jean Shepherd, the video was shot on location in the band's hometown of Brooklyn, NY. It reveals frontman Brian J as "The Hustler" versus his childhood foil, "The People's Champ", as they converge for a climactic game of Jenga by the train tracks.
"Dance Cardia" is the last single from the Pimps' most recent LP, Jukestone Paradise (2015, Write Home Records). Brian J co-wrote the funky dance track with Alex Toth of Rubblebucket.
The Pimps premiered the video this morning through the Denver Post's music blog, Reverb, as a gift for their Colorado fans before they perform on the legendary Red Rocks stage for the first time as a group this Thursday, July 14.
"Colorado has been real good to us over the past 6 years. There seems to be a genuine appreciation for what we do out here," said Brian J. "It's a privilege to be invited to play the amazing Red Rocks Amphitheater and we have our fans to thank for it."
Pimps of Joytime perform next in Telluride, CO tomorrow, July 13, headlining Telluride Mountain Village's free summer concert series at Sunset Plaza. Then they travel to Morrison, CO to open the Red Rocks show with Galactic and Boombox Thursday, July 14.
