Emerging from the vibrant Ocean Beach music scene, Shakedown String Band has transformed their traditional string band roots into a powerhouse of vocal harmonies and electric melodies. Their latest release, Stargazer, produced by Tim Bluhm of The Mother Hips, is a testament to their eclectic style, blending Americana, country, and psychedelia. The album transports listeners through evocative soundscapes of starry desert nights, high alpine forests, and a nostalgic 1969 road trip across America. A highlight of the album is their swoon-worthy cover of The Grateful Dead’s “Mississippi Half-Step,” sure to resonate with fans old and new.
