Spiral Light will be performing at The Fillmore Miami Beach at The Jackie Gleason Theater on Friday, December 14th, 2018, with special guest David Gans, musician and host of SiriusXM’s Grateful Dead Hour. He will also join Spiral Light performing the iconic music catalog of the Grateful Dead to the backdrop of a sensory expanding psychedelic light show!
Spiral Light is led by Joni Bottari on Jerry Garcia influenced lead guitar, along with Nick Landess a veteran of the Jam Band scene in South Florida on keys and soulful lead vocals. On bass is Leslie Zigel, perhaps best known for his day gig as South Florida’s premiere entertainment attorney representing global superstars such as Pitbull, Carlos Vives, and Wisin. On drums is South Florida Jam Band Veteran, Dan East. Special guest David Gans, host of SiriusXM’s Tales from the Golden Road and renowned music journalist, will open with a solo set and then join Spiral Light onstage on rhythm guitar..
A David Gans "solo electric" performance is likely to consist of several elements: country-blues-style fingerpicking; loop-based improvisations created live in the moment; sweetly-sung ballads, original or borrowed; Grateful Dead songs reinterpreted to suit his voice and guitar; wry observations of the music-festival subculture and the larger world; soulful and passionate political commentary; favorites from the folk-rock canon of the last 50 years. Mix and match - it's never the same show twice, but it's always worth a listen.
