Over the July 12th weekend, The String Cheese Incident (SCI) convened once again on the Red Rocks stage to continue their year-long celebration of SCI’s 30th anniversary year, honoring 3 geographical locations that have influenced the band’s music throughout the decades.

The weekend kicked off on Friday with The New Orleans Incident, a celebration of the music of The Big Easy, featuring special guests George Porter Jr., Ivan Neville and their Phunky Friends, Tarriona “Tank” Ball (of Tank and the Bangas), and Brothers of Brass. One thousand drones, courtesy of Nova Sky Stories, lit up the sky above the legendary amphitheater - kicking off the largest drone shows to take place in Colorado to date - forming trains rolling above the rocks to accompany the NOLA supergroup’s cover of “Last Train” (Allen Toussaint).

“This Red Rocks run was incredibly special for The String Cheese Incident - celebrating 30 amazing years together, and honoring their roots in bluegrass and the influence of New Orleans on their music,” said manager Jeremy Stein. “String Cheese has always pushed the envelope on amazing theatrical productions to complement the music, and the addition of drone shows is an exciting exploration of the ever-evolving intersection between technology and art.“

Saturday night’s The Colorado Incident saw appearances from Colorado-grown guest artists Dominic Lalli (Big Gigantic), David Satori (Beats Antique), and Liza Oxnard (Zuba).

The Nashville Incident on Sunday night boasted sit ins from bluegrass icons Sam Bush, Jerry Douglas and Sierra Hull, and also the second of two drone shows.

The band will continue their Summer Tour with three nights at McMenamins Edgefield Amphitheater on July 25, 26 and 27 in Troutdale, OR, followed by their Fall Tour with leg one kicking off at Bender Jamboree in Las Vegas, NV. Fall continues with performances beginning September 18 with a rare stop in Oklahoma City, followed by stops in Kansas City, Milwaukee, Detroit, Louisville and more. The Halloween-focused second leg of the tour starts at Suwannee Hulaween, moving Northeast into the newly opened Paramount Theater in Brooklyn, and continuing on to The Met in Philadelphia. The run will wrap up with two nights at The Capitol Theatre in Port Chester, NY, November 1 and 2.  All news and up-to-date information can be found at https://www.stringcheeseincident.com/.
