Tom Morello has released his inaugural Spotify Singles recordings. Listen HERE.
Recorded at his own studio in LA, Side A is Tom’s new rendition of his song “Raising Hell,” a somber, eerie take on the growling, head-bobbing original, with Ben Harper on vocals. Side B is a cover of Tom Waits’ “Come On Up To The House,” in a beautiful acoustic tribute infused with X Ambassador frontman Sam Harris’ powerful voice, adding their own soulful, rustic flavor to the original.
Says Tom: "For the alt mix of 'Raising Hell' I wanted something spooky, haunting. The song is a quasi-autobiographical lyric that I wrote and longtime brother in arms Ben Harper sang with his gorgeous voice. 'Come On Up To The House' is a cover of a Tom Waits song. Sam from X Ambassadors turned me on to it and Sam just slays this grimy hymn beautifully.”
