The Kerrville Folk Festival Foundation is excited to announce the return of Welcome Home Fest, a beloved celebration of music and community. Set to take place from October 10th to 13th at Quiet Valley Ranch, just south of Kerrville, TX, this year's festival promises an unforgettable experience for music lovers and festival-goers alike.
Welcome Home Fest offers a unique blend of songwriters and storytellers, carefully curated to honor the rich heritage of over 50 years of the Kerrville Music Festival. This event provides a fresh take on genre-bending folk music and a focus on lyrics, all within a laid-back and intimate concert and camping atmosphere.
Attendees can look forward to a diverse lineup featuring artists from various musical backgrounds, including folk-punk fusion artist Sunny War, indie-rock rising star Palehound, and the classic country swing of Melissa Carper. The festival's eclectic mix of performers ensures a weekend of memorable performances and community engagement.
Named "Best Folk Fest Refresh" in the 2024 Austin Chronicle Critics Poll, Welcome Home Fest has been praised for its innovative approach. As highlighted by the Austin Chronicle, "Reimagined by longtime Kerrville Folk Festival organizer Amy Sue Berlin, Welcome Home preserves the freewheeling spirit of its parent festival while drawing new attendees into the songwriter’s paradise. Compared to its behemoth 18-day sister fest, the intimate weekend-long event makes a point to recruit younger, queerer, and more diverse acts. Last October’s attendees camped under pristine skies and caught sets from folk-focused headliner Adrianne Lenker and R&B hellraisers Sir Woman.
