Yarmony Music Festival (previously YarmonyGrass) has been a staple of the Colorado music festival scene for almost 20 years. It is universally beloved by those who annually don their pirate gear, pack their floats and rafts, and celebrate the original festival on the Colorado River that Yarmony fans hold so dear. Yarmony was last held in August of 2019. But now, after 5 years, Yarmony rises again! In November 2023, Yarmony Music Festival officially announced a 2024 event on June 28-29—marking a change from the traditional August gathering and generating a huge level of excitement for the return of the beloved music festival to Rancho del Rio.
Yarmony’s lineup announcement came with great anticipation. Yarmony has always been a mix of local Colorado musicians and friends, with top-tier acts often appearing at Yarmony before experiencing meteoric climbs to massive venues around the world. For the 2024 lineup, Yarmony Festival looks to recreate some of the magic of previous years' festivals. Headliner Lindsay Lou is a star on the rise, making waves at festivals and venues across the country, stealing hearts—and the show—at every stage she has graced. Along with Lou is another quickly ascending group of young stars, The Fretliners, who made history by winning both the Telluride Bluegrass Festival and RockyGrass Festival band competitions in 2023—something that has only been accomplished once previously. Along with a Main Stage set, The Fretliners will also host a Late-Night Super Pick.
Yarmony is also tapping into some old friends and regulars in Tenth Mountain Division and Liver Down The River, both of whom have grown up as bands on the shores of Rancho del Rio. Daniel Rodriguez also returns to Yarmony, having appeared at the festival as a solo act and with his previous band, Elephant Revival. Since venturing out on his own, Rodriguez has played alongside musical heavyweights such as Gregory Alan Isakov, Ben Harper, and Todd Snider, and toured with the Lumineers. Yarmony’s Special Guest is Billy Failing. Failing had appeared with his main project, Billy Strings, at Yarmony 2018, but this marks his first solo trip to the festival. As a Special Guest, Failing will appear in many sets throughout the weekend, with some surprises certainly in store.
The 15th Yarmony Music Festival returns to Rancho del Rio on June 28-29, 2024, with Lindsay Lou, Drunken Hearts, The Fretliners, and more. The high-energy, genre-bending power trio from North Carolina, Jon Stickley Trio makes a return visit to Rancho del Rio. Bonnie Sims (Big Richard) appears alongside her talented husband, Taylor, in the Bonnie & Taylor Sims Band. Up-and-coming star Madeline Hawthorne makes her Yarmony debut, while neo-psychedelic Americana rock band Violet Pilot are no strangers to the festival.
Timber!, Easy Tiger, Derek Dames Ohl, and Justin Garber round out the talent-filled roster, along with Silas Herman and Jack Cloonan, who, as artists-at-large, are sure to add plenty of extra fast-picking firepower to every set they appear in. All of these talented artists join Yarmony host band, Drunken Hearts. Drunken Hearts’ Yarmony sets are often filled with surprises and special guests, and always high energy, emotionally rocking musical moments. Fueled by the songwriting and powerful vocals of Yarmony founder Andrew McConathy, Drunken Hearts has released a wealth of new material since the last Yarmony, and fans will anticipate hearing it live on the banks of the Colorado River for the first time.
“We can't wait to bring our little slice of the music world together once again,” says McConathy about the return of Yarmony after its long hiatus. All GA tickets to Yarmony include camping at Rancho del Rio. There will be several quality local food and beverage partners on hand, including the official beer sponsor, Wibby Brewing Co. Along with the festival’s move to June, Yarmony is also capping attendance at a lower level than in previous years to maintain an intimate but comfortable experience for all on the shores of the beautiful Rancho del Rio. With limited tickets, fans are encouraged to purchase early, as a sellout is expected before the gates open!
With a return to the cherished festival grounds of Rancho del Rio combined with a powerful lineup of local and nationally touring musicians, the excitement for Yarmony 2024 is high!
