Music, art, dance and above all, consciousness, will all bloom from the same good vibe bud June 26 through June 28 with the fourth installment of SONIC BLOOM. Set for the beautiful Mishawaka Ampitheatre, nestled in Poudre Canyon outside of Ft. Collins, Colorado, SONIC BLOOM is a whirlwind of camping, elite electronic music and human performance, all set to the earthy vibes of the Rocky Mountains.

In the burgeoning jamband era of the 1990s, one band from Minnesota set out to take the world by storm.  This of course is the Big Wu, one of the more unsung heroes of the jam scene who have arguably displayed some of the best songwriting to come out of rock in the last 15 years.

GW: How has the tour gone?

They weren't the biggest band back in the late 60's and 70's, yet Grand Funk Railroad did meet their prime with top singles such as "We're an American Band" and "I'm Your Captain/Closer to Home." Forty years later the band still comes through town on the occasional tour, but as Saturday's concert at Elitch Gardens showed, the Grand Funk's train appears to be coming to a halt.
