Grammy Award-winning singer, songwriter, performer and musician Billy Strings will continue his extensive headline tour next year with newly confirmed shows at Port Chester’s The Capitol Theatre (four nights), Augusta’s Bell Auditorium (two nights), Knoxville’s Civic Auditorium (two nights), Madison’s The Sylvee (three nights), Cleveland’s KeyBank State Theatre and Cincinnati’s Andrew J Brady ICON Music Center (two nights) among many others. Beach Road Weekend has added 13-time Grammy award winning artist Emmylou Harris, Lucinda Williams, Caamp, Guster and more to its stellar lineup for the 2022 music festival. The lineup also features Beck, Wilco, The Avett Brothers, Khruangbin, Jason Isbell & the 400 Unit and more than two dozen other artists performing August 26-28, 2022 at Veterans Memorial Park on Martha’s Vineyard. The festival also announced a new round of hotel packages, including several options on Cape Cod.

Today, Bonfire Entertainment solidifies the triumphant return of WinterWonderGrass California, taking place April 1–3, 2022 at Palisades Tahoe, located in the North Lake Tahoe region of California. Palisades Tahoe (formerly Squaw Valley Alpine Meadows) has already seen over three feet of snow this week, paving an ideal start to the WinterWonderGrass season. Music, brews and mountains have always collided at WinterWonderGrass, and WWG CA 2022 promises to be no different.

I was a real nowhere lass, sitting on my nowhere ass, making all my nowhere plans for nobody. Memorial Day weekend is supposed to be spent at Three Sisters Park in Chillicothe, IL for Summer Camp Music Festival. Two years without my big blowout weekend left me a real blind bat. I had feared when they announced an August attempt, would it even happen? Would it be safe? Would it be the same? I was unperceptive to what I used to consider my thing, my scene, festivals were my jam.

Last weekend’s Railbird Festival which took place at Keeneland Horse Racing Course in Lexington, Kentucky, took some hard hits from the media as the first day seemed to be filled with long lines, high temperatures, and lots of thirsty concertgoers. It was the second time the festival has been held, after being forced to cancel the 2020 event due to the pandemic.

I don’t know what normal is anymore. So, I am still a little dumbfounded when people say we are getting back to normal. Or, their slightly more pessimistic counterparts, who assure me that this is the new normal. Tuesday night, seeing Billy Strings play at The Champlain Valley Expo outside of Burlington, VT felt like it landed right between those two paradigms; seizing on the optimistic return to what was, and infecting what is with that same sense of buoyancy.
