Jazz Aspen Snowmass (JAS) is thrilled to reveal the initial artist and venue lineup for the 2025 JAS June Experience, taking place June 26–29 in downtown Aspen. With concerts happening daily at twelve different venues, the JAS June Experience offers fans an immersive musical journey through jazz, blues, soul, funk, world, New Orleans traditions, and more.
Today, Candid Records and Chick Corea Productions released Trilogy 3, a new double live album. In 2020, National Endowment for the Arts Jazz Master and jazz icon Chick Corea hit the road with his powerhouse trio of Christian McBride and Brian Blade, embarking on what would be Corea’s final tour. The recordings from those shows are now being released as Trilogy 3, the third installment from this extraordinary group. The album is out digitally today with CD & vinyl pre-orders available now for release on May 30.

CBS host Vladimir Duthiers spoke with Founder Melissa Walker and her husband, nine-time GRAMMY-Award winning bassist and the non-profit’s Artistic Director Christian McBride. While visiting the JAZZ HOUSE headquarters in Montclair, NJ, Duthiers also interviewed JAZZ HOUSE KiDS students Mark Ricco and Sinclair Powell about the positive impact the organization has had on their lives.

The Newport Jazz Festival just announced that tickets will go on sale and the lineup will drop for the 2024 festival (August 2-4) on April 9th at 1PM Eastern, which has this East Coast mama reminiscing of all my favorite moments from last year! After having finally experienced the longest-running jazz festival in the country last year, it quickly made its way to the top of my ever-expanding list of favorite summer fests.
Today, 8-time GRAMMY® Award winner Christian McBride has shared a new single “Philly Slop,” recorded with renowned Bassist and composer Edgar Meyer, from the duo’s upcoming album But Who’s Gonna Play The Melody?. "This was my way of putting in the love for my hometown,” writes McBride. “This comes out of that Philly groove. Edgar is a classical bassist with perfect execution, but when he plays the blues that kid from Oak Ridge, Tennessee comes out."

Today, JAZZ HOUSE KiDS announced world-renowned singer-songwriter, musician, actor, activist and 17-time GRAMMY-winner Sting as the special guest for the RALPH PUCCI 8th Annual Jazz Set, The Lowdown: Conversations with Christian® on February 28, 2024.
Sting will perform alongside eight-time GRAMMY-winning virtuosic bassist and JAZZ HOUSE Artistic Director Christian McBride. The two will deliver a once-in-a-lifetime evening, performing together, trading stories, and celebrating Sting’s illustrious career.

Today, the 14th annual Montclair Jazz Festival produced by the acclaimed Jazz House Kids, announced the lineup for their 2023 Downtown Jamboree on September 9th. This year, headliners include Regina Carter, Antibalas, Steve Turre, Melanie Charles, Person to Person with Eric Person and Houston Person, Edmar Castaneda, Vince Ector, Michael Mwenso and the Shakes, Jazz House Collective and Christian McBride, the festival’s music director and curator.
Christian McBride is an eight-time GRAMMY Award winning bassist, composer, and bandleader. McBride is the Artistic Director of the historic Newport Jazz Festival, New Jersey Performing Arts center (NJPAC) and the TD James Moody Jazz Festival, and the National Jazz Museum in Harlem. Christian is also a respected educator and advocate as the Artistic Director of Jazz House KiDS, and the Jazz Aspen Snowmass Summer Sessions.
