Donna the Buffalo has been touring for the past 20 years and has deservedly built up its own fan collective known as The Herd. That’s why I was initially mystified at the barren nature of The Dirty Bourbon in Albuquerque on Monday. In retrospect, I really should not have been too surprised. After all, how many shows have you seen on a Monday?

Donna the Buffalo are on an extensive tour across the country and back.

Simply put, pretty, is the location.  Smiles, sounds and relaxation are the destination. To be more specific Shakori Hills Grassroots Festival of Music and Dance is located approximately fifteen to twenty miles from the intersection of U.S. 15-501 and U.S.

Donna The Buffalo kicks off for their Fall tour this weekend starting with the last festival of the season at Magnolia Fest in Live Oak, Florida! Then the band makes their way to the west coast for the first time in a few years with stops in Mobile, New Orleans, Austin, Albuquerque and Flagstaff before few shows in southern California.

It gets old considering music and classifying it within the created boundaries of genre. Certain sounds and flavors that make music can’t help but call to mind those among the long history of music which precedes that of the modern era, however. For New York band Donna the Buffalo, it is within the realm of country that the group’s tenth studio album, Silverlined, seems to be most deeply rooted. Yet the thirteen track record is not so easy to classify solely within those parameters.

Have you Herd? Donna the Buffalo will be traveling the country this fall and winter! Sounding better than ever, they have been in the studio this spring and summer working on a 10th album and will be performing new songs, along with the old favorites, up and down the East coast before heading out West for the first time in a couple of years.
