Doobie Brothers

Carlos Santana, to paraphrase a funky expression, “tore the roof off that sucker,” on June 27 at a cool and comfortable evening outing near Sacramento, California. He and the band blasted out of the gate, following a big-screen montage of old Santana Woodstock-era footage, with an exhilarating version of “Soul Sacrifice,” the epic instrumental that made the country sit up and take notice 50 years ago, both on the band’s eponymous first record, as well as the forever indelible version performed at Woodstock.

The Doobie Brothers have been delivering mind-blowing, roots-based, harmony-laden, guitar-driven rock and roll for over four decades, selling more than 48 million albums and winning four GRAMMY® Awards. In November 2018, they returned to the Beacon Theatre in New York City for the first time in 25 years to perform two of their landmark albums, Toulouse Street and The Captain and Me. These historic concerts offered an opportunity for Doobie fans to hear deep cuts and songs never before performed live by the band.

Grateful Web recently had the honor of speaking with Bill Payne about the upcoming milestone of 50 years of Little Feat in 2019. Payne’s depth as an artist goes much farther than Little Feat’s founding pianist, co-songwriter and vocalist. A photographer, poet, one of the hardest working and best damn American rock musicians since the 1970s.

The Doobie Brothers announce their first ever full-album performances, on two historic nights in New York City at The Beacon Theatre, November 15 and 16, 2018.  The band will perform Toulouse Street plus select hits on Thursday, November 15, and The Captain and Me plus select hits on Friday, November 16. This is definitive Doobies at their most powerful, and fans will delight in hearing the deep cuts, some of which the band has never played live in concert.

Love Hope Strength Foundation (LHSF), the world’s leading rock and roll foundation, is proud to announce a new programmatic partnership with the iconic rock band The Doobie Brothers. LHSF will be onsite at select summer shows helping concert goers to Get on the List during their 2015 national tour.

Four-time GRAMMY® Awards winners The Doobie Brothers have added new dates to their nationwide 2015 tour, including select dates with Don Felder of The Eagles.

The Doobie Brothers have been announced to join an already massive 2013 concert lineup at the Sturgis Buffalo Chip®. The classic rock Hall of Famers responsible for over four decades of American top hits will take the famed motorcycle and music festival stage on Monday, August 5, prior to another American icon, Kid Rock. The Doobie Brothers join a 9 day world class lineup during the Sturgis motorcycle rally that already includes The Cult, ZZ Top, Toby Keith, Rob Zombie, Brantley Gilbert, Halestorm, Mastodon, Machine Head, Queensrÿche, Sublime with Rome and many more to be announced soon.

Chicago is set to launch a 25-date summer tour with support from the Doobie Brothers next month.  The relationship between the two bands dates back to the early 1970s, with this summer's tour marking the fifth time the legendary acts have hit the road together. Following separate sets loaded with their individual hits, the shows will culminate with a collaborative finale featuring classics from both acts.
