The Steep Canyon Rangers, celebrated torchbearers of bluegrass and Americana music, are set to bring their latest auditory masterpiece, "Morning Shift," to life at the iconic Boulder Theater on Saturday, July 20, 2024. This much-anticipated show promises to immerse fans in the deep musical heritage of the Carolinas, showcasing the band's evolution over more than two decades and their unwavering dedication to storytelling through music.
The mountains took on a bit of rain last night and caused a brief delay for the much anticipated two night sold out run from Head For The Hills. Benny Galloway took the stage first playing his signature style of Americana inspired songs. His talents run deep as a singer, songwriter, producer and he is well respected among his peers and is typically referred to as the one and only Benny “Burle” Galloway.
Head for the Hills--Adam Kinghorn, Joe Lessard, Matt Loewen--come out swinging and invigorated with fresh sounds on their latest EP, Say Your Mind. Recorded at Swingfingers Studios in Fort Collins (Colorado, the band brought a larger band than ever before, including drummer Darren Garvey of Elephant Revival, Vocalist Kim Dawson, Dobroist Todd Livingston, a horn section and more.

The little festival that could, Rhythms on the Rio 2017, did it once again, bringing a stellar lineup and unmatched Colorado hospitality to a welcoming festival audience. This year’s fest started out overcast and chilly (we are in monsoon season, after all), with the promise of rain. But none of that dampened anyone’s spirits.
Potions and Poisons is the fourth studio album of original music from Head for the Hills, the Colorado based post-modern bluegrass outfit of Adam Kinghorn, Joe Lessard, Matt Loewen and Sam Parks. There’s no reinvention of the wheel here--no computer programmed banjo rolls or digitally arpeggiated fiddle lines. Instead we find Head for the Hills at the peak of their powers of musical alchemy, building little worlds of sound from the detritus of bluegrass, jazz, hip hop, folk and soul.
