Earlier this spring, electronic music pioneer Jean-Michel Jarre released the musical score for Amazônia, the latest project by award winning photographer and filmmaker Sebastião Salgado which made its debut to high acclaim at the Philharmonic Paris.  A portion of the Amazônia exhibition--which was due to travel to Rome, São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro and London prior to arriving stateside, but was rerouted due to the global pandemic--is now on view in Los Angeles.  Now through November 13, a select number of images from Amazônia as well as others from Salgado’s catalogue are on view at

Jean-Michel Jarre rang in 2021 with ‘Welcome To The Other Side,’ a groundbreaking live performance from a virtual reality Notre-Dame cathedral. The show, which combined life-like concert visuals in VR with a real live studio performance, introduced a mixed-media approach which was the first of its kind. It attracted a staggering audience of over 75 million viewers globally. This historic achievement saw Jarre top the Pollstar chart for livestreams, outperforming the entire Top 10 combined.

For the first time, electronic music filled the Cour d’honneur courtyard of the Elysée presidential palace in Paris, on Monday night, June 21; Jean-Michel Jarre brought together an inter-generational stage, performing to an audience of young Culture Pass holders, as part of the Fête de la Musique festival.

The live show combined life-like concert visuals in VR with a live studio performance. The groundbreaking production left many viewers wondering which parts were real and which were virtual.

In partnership with the City of Paris and under the patronage of UNESCO, electronic music pioneer Jean-Michel Jarre is teaming with French VR startup VRrOOm to take us into the New Year with a live stream trailblazing concert-spectacular set in the virtual environment of the planetary landmark Notre-Dame de Paris.   The unique visual world created by Jarre in VR will also be the official midnight news image coming from the City of Paris.
