It was great to learn that The Trey Anastasio Trio, as listed on the schedule, was actually playing as a quartet, given that Ray Paczkowski had just returned to his keyboard the night before, after recovering from a health issue. That may have been Trey’s first real interaction with the crowd, there before the encore, where he played two solo songs with his acoustic, including a lovely “Waste,” before bringing his bandmates back for a third together. I did love how he phrased it, the news about Ray being better, genuinely thrilled to share “some good news in what seems like a world of bad news.”

We see live music not to hear the same music we can easily hear at home, but to experience something we otherwise never could.  Whether that difference is an artist’s speech, surrounding ourselves with the energy of a positive crowd, or hearing a unique rendition of a song that has never been recorded in a studio, live music gives us something our headphones just can’t, and hometown shows always have a way of giving us just a little bit more.  Saturday, February 3rd Stick Figure performed to a sold-out crowd at Oaklan

Whether you’re a fan of Reggae, or you’re just here for Cocoa the Tour Dog, Stick Figure has always found a way to keep their fans happy. As one of modern Reggae’s more entertaining bands to see live, they put out an energy that just cannot be replicated.

Stick Figure dropped their newest single, Easy Runaway, just in time to start off the weekend.  Celebrating their current tour, the new single highlights the features we have come to expect from the group.

Today, roots dub reggae artist Scott Woodruff, aka Stick Figure, dropped “Easy Runaway” - a lush new single inspired by mid-tempo electronica. “Easy Runaway” was written, recorded, and produced by Woodruff and is the second track to be released from a forthcoming album that is currently in the works. Yesterday, fans heard an exclusive first listen of the track when it premiered on SiriusXM The Joint.

Fan-favorite reggae act Stick Figure, led by the multi-talented frontman, songwriter, and producer Scott Woodruff as well as the beloved Cocoa the Tour Dog, will be teaming up with jamband powerhouse Twiddle for a 17-show run across the country, with additional support from LA-based reggae group Iya Terra. The organic link between jambands and reggae has been clearly drawn with the announcement of the Above the Storm Tour, a traveling representation of top up and comers in each respective scene.
