The String Cheese Incident
Colorado’s born and bred The String Cheese Incident has significantly elevated their concert experience since they began jamming together in 1993. Their first audiences were at the base of ski lifts in Telluride, Colorado; picking in exchange for a lift ticket for whoever was around to take notice.
Following their upcoming “March Madness” tour and three nights of headlining Electric Forest, The String Cheese Incident will celebrate Independence Day by kicking off their summer tour in Asheville, NC where they will play two “Independence Incidents” in Asheville and two in Atlanta, GA followed by dates in Cooperstown, NY, Columbia, MD and Portsmouth, VA. There’s something truly special about a New Year's show. Everyone puts on their best and celebrates a long year of work. Every year Colorado is particularly lucky to host a number of great bands who seem to compete for the coveted “Best Show” among fans. In epic fashion, The String Cheese Incident returned to the 1st Bank Center for a ritual 3 set show. Filled with unique surprises, this show elevated the possibility for live music.
With a quick turnaround on the heels of a three set New Year’s Eve show, The String Cheese Incident spoiled friends and family to more of that cheesy goodness on their second night at Broomfield’s 1st Bank Center. While the costumes and elaborate spectacles were reeled in (as much as they can be at a SCI show), the 3D screen was stunning and the music seemingly more engaged. Hangovers be damned, the band and crowd came to jig.
Kyle Hollingsworth is well known as the keyboard player for The String Cheese Incident, but over the years he’s become just as recognizable by his insatiable thirst for craft brews of all sorts.
Suwannee Hulaween returned to The Spirit of Suwannee Music Park for its third year. Once again, it was hosted by Colorado Jam-grass band The String Cheese Incident. Suwannee Hulaween has become one of the biggest Halloween parties in the country. With that came a stellar lineup of musicians from all genres of music. This year hosted not only the largest attendance for Hulaween but also for The Spirit of Suwannee Music Park with a record breaking 21,000 fans.
For The String Cheese Incident’s Michael Kang, another fall tour is on the horizon and things are looking brighter than ever for the nearly 20-year veteran. After all, the eclectic six-piece jam band just finished up yet another action-packed stretch filled with headlining spots at some of the summer’s biggest festivals, a spectacular three-night Red Rocks run, as well as purchasing a brand-new studio space to master some of their upcoming tracks.
With a wealth of live concerts under their belt since the late 90s it was nice to finally see The String Cheese Incident release an archival show a few years back entitled Rhythm of the Road Volume 1; a smoking complete performance from the Tabernacle in Atlanta from the winter of 2000. That was a fantastic release but fans have been left wondering if they were ever going to hear more.
In what has been one of their most prolific years in recent memory, The String Cheese Incident will kick off their 2015 Fall Tour in the Midwest October 14th and 15th with a two-night stand at the Skyway Theater in Minneapolis, marking their first return to the Twin Cities in nearly 13 years.
For the third year, Silver Wrapper and Purple Hat Productions are bringing back The String Cheese Incident to The Spirit of Suwannee Music Park for their Hulaween Celebration.
