International singer-songwriter, actor and activist ANGÉLIQUE KIDJO joined nine-time GRAMMY winning bassist and composer CHRISTIAN McBRIDE for the RALPH PUCCI 9th Annual Jazz Set, The Lowdown: Conversations with Christian® on March 6, 2025. The evening benefited JAZZ HOUSE KiDS, the nationally-acclaimed nonprofit that uses the power and legacy of jazz to give young people an artistic edge, providing access to world-class arts education and live performances, no matter what their financial constraints. 

Last night, the 38th Annual Tibet House US Benefit Concert brought an evening of moving performances to New York’s Carnegie Hall by an eclectic lineup of artists that included Laurie Anderson, Patti Smith, Jackson Browne, Michal Stipe, Orville Peck, Arooj Aftab, Allison Russell, Tune-Yards, Angélique Kidjo, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, Gogol Bordello, Gina Gershon, The Philip Glass Ensemble, Tenzin Choegyal, Sexmob, The Scorchio Quartet, Jesse Paris Smith, Rebecca Foon and an incredible house band that included Tony Shanahan, Brian Griffin, Erik Della Penna and Andy York.

The New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival stands as a radiant beacon of America's diverse musical scene. This multifaceted gathering represents an immersive journey across the musical map of America and beyond. Describing its innumerable treasures can prove daunting, as there is a veritable banquet of sound that is impossible to fully consume, let alone encapsulate in a single piece. But in attempting to relay the highlights of the 2023 festival's first weekend, one must reconcile with the abundance of excellence presented.
