Yusuf / Cat Stevens today releases new single Bitterblue²,” which originally featured on his 1971 album Teaser and The Firecat. The newly recorded and never before heard version of the classic album track sees Yusuf working with the original album’s producer, Paul Samwell-Smith, and his long-time guitarist Alun Davies for this special rendition.

Following last year’s 50th anniversaries of the era-defining albums, Tea for the Tillerman and Mona Bone Jakon, 2021 will see Yusuf / Cat Stevens celebrate the succeeding album that immortalized his status as a forerunner in the singer-songwriter movement. The 1971 multi-platinum selling landmark record, Teaser and the Firecat, will be celebrated as a 50th anniversary Super Deluxe Edition box set, due on November 12th, 2021 via A&M/UMe.

Legendary Singer-Songwriter, Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee, and celebrated humanitarian Yusuf / Cat Stevens has teamed up with Playing For Change, the multimedia company responsible for the popular “Songs Around The World” video series garnering more than one billion total online views, to produce “Peace Train'' around the world with more than 25 musicians from 12 countries.

The new video arrives following a 2020 that saw spectacular celebrations for the 50th anniversary of Cat Stevens’ classic era-defining album, Tea for the Tillerman. Reimagined, the newly recorded Tea for the Tillerman² saw Yusuf recast the same 11 songs for a new age with dramatic results.

Yusuf / Cat Stevens has announced CatSong Festival, a special live YouTube broadcast in celebration of the 50th anniversary of his classic 1970 albums Tea For The Tillerman and Mona Bone Jakon, two records that have touched the hearts of millions and elevated Yusuf / Cat Stevens to legendary status as a musician and songwriter.

As part of the 50th anniversary celebration of Yusuf / Cat Stevens’ classic album Mona Bone Jackon, a video recorded to promote the opening track “Lady D’Arbanville” has been rediscovered while delving deep in his vaults. Recorded in 1970, the video combines newly remastered audio with footage which features the song’s muse Patti D’Arbanville herself, supporting the song’s somber yet romantic mood. Following the widely acclaimed release of Tea for the Tillerman², December 2020 will see Yusuf / Cat Stevens celebrate the two albums that first established him as his generation’s premier acoustic troubadour and then fired him into international superstardom. Released only seven months apart in 1970, Mona Bone Jakon and Tea for the Tillerman will be celebrated as 50th anniversary Super Deluxe Collector’s Edition box sets.
