Sarah McCombie, one half of the Americana duo Chatham Rabbits alongside her husband Austin, is tired of the notion that it’s one or the other—a career or a family, a dream or relationships. “As a woman in her thirties, I am reaching big moments in my career, but I’m just a few years shy of what is considered a geriatric pregnancy,” she says. “How messed up is that?

North Carolina husband-and-wife duo Sarah and Austin McCombie—better known as Chatham Rabbits—want fans to know that their newly announced album, Be Real With Me, is a step into their lives. The duo has spent the two years since their last release having a bit of a “Return to Saturn,” reevaluating their lives and careers through trial and error, dialing in exactly where their priorities and commitments lie moving forward. “I’m ready for our fans to get to know the people we are now,” says Sarah.

On a warm August evening, the historic Chautauqua Auditorium in Boulder, CO, became the backdrop for a night of music that was both captivating and deeply personal.
