Jim Wooster, Executive Director of Passim, announced that he will retire from the Cambridge music venue in early 2025. Wooster has served as executive director for nearly a decade and helped strengthen the legendary arts non-profit, creating new initiatives and setting the organization up for continued success. A search is underway now for his replacement.

Singer-songwriter Kenny White will perform at Club Passim on June 9, following a rich and varied musical career. Transitioning from creating iconic jingles for Cheerios and Chevrolet to crafting love songs and ballads, White has evolved into a celebrated troubadour. His performances showcase a blend of original music, from humorous to heartfelt tunes, with White himself on piano and guitar. Americana artist Janie Barnett will open the show.

Passim has announced the lineup for the 12th annual Down Home Up Here Festival on Patriot’s Day Weekend, April 13 to 15. The annual festival, dedicated to bluegrass and old-time music, will showcase more than a dozen acts from greater Boston and around the country, including Johanna Wacker from New York, Hello Stranger from California, and Hound & Handler from Boston.

The 21st annual Boston Celtic Music Festival (BCMFest) returns to Club Passim and Harvard Square, with added venues like the Crystal Ballroom, The Burren, and The Rockwell on January 11-14, 2024. The festival will showcase Greater Boston's deep tradition of music, song, and dance from Irish, Scottish, Cape Breton, and other Celtic communities.

Dead to the Core, a rotating collective of singer-songwriters led by musician/author Jeffrey Pepper Rodgers brings an acoustic celebration of the Grateful Dead to Club Passim on Saturday, July 1st. Joining Rodgers (guitar and Strumstick) are Jefferson Hamer (guitar), Wendy Sassafras Ramsay (flute, clarinet, and accordion), and Steve Roy (upright bass, mandolin, fiddle, guitar, and ukulele).

Passim’s School of Music is back with more than two dozen classes including a pair of classes examining the music of Bob Dylan & The Band and Bonnie Raitt. This semester half of the classes will be held online, while the rest remain in person. All classes will begin remotely for the first two weeks, and then in person classes will return to the Passim School of Music in Harvard Square. The weekly courses start next week. The Iguana Music Fund awards gifts annually to musicians for career building projects and for projects that provide community service through music. Established in 2008 after an anonymous donor approached Passim with the idea to start a program to support local artists’ career growth, the fund provides grants from $500 to $2,000 for musicians with a strong New England connection.

Club Passim will stream a special 50th-anniversary celebration of two iconic Grateful Dead albums. Dead to the Core will perform Workingman's Dead on Wednesday, August 12 at 7:00 PM and then follow it up with a special stream of American Beauty on Thursday, August 13 at 7:00 PM.
