Today, three-time Grammy-winning singer, songwriter, musician and activist Fantastic Negrito (neé Xavier Dphrepaulezz) shares his most ambitious and provocative project to date, White Jesus Black Problems, out now on Storefront Records. Accompanied by a companion film, White Jesus Black Problems is a synthesis of so much – an ancestral journey, an unlikely love story, and even a self-discovery of one’s true name. This new project follows the artists’ acclaimed 2020 album Have You Lost Your Mind Yet?

Mempho Music Festival has announced the daily lineup for its fifth annual event taking place September 30-October 2, 2022 at Memphis Botanic Garden. The three-day event is set to kick off with a combo plate of funk, soul, rock and Americana courtesy of Adia Victoria, Bette Smith, Futurebirds, and Fantastic Negrito before Friday heavyweights Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit and The Black Keys take the Adams Keegan main stage.

The Wood Brothers, Fantastic Negrito, and Jade Bird are among the third round of artists headlining the 2022 Bristol Rhythm & Roots Reunion music festival, which takes place Sept. 9-11 in Historic Downtown Bristol, Virginia-Tennessee. Singer-songwriters Ian Noe, Arlo McKinley, and Aaron Lee Tasjan are also part of the 2022 lineup announced today.

To accompany the full-length studio album, Fantastic Negrito created an entire companion film set to the music. White Jesus Black Problems was written, recorded, and filmed in Oakland, where the artist grew up and currently resides.
