Three-time Grammy-winning singer, songwriter, musician and activist Fantastic Negrito (neé Xavier Dphrepaulezz) announces his most ambitious project to date, White Jesus Black Problems, out June 3 via his own label, Storefront Records. To accompany the full-length studio album, Fantastic Negrito created an entire companion film set to the music. White Jesus Black Problems was written, recorded, and filmed in Oakland, where the artist grew up and currently resides.

GLIDE is proud to announce the GLIDE Annual Holiday Jam: Still We Rise, a live, in-person and livestreamed benefit on Thursday, November 18 at The Masonic in San Francisco. After a year and a half of upheaval and distancing, the GLIDE Annual Holiday Jam: Still We Rise returns as an in-person event bringing the community together for music, storytelling and celebration to support GLIDE’s mission.

Today, Fantastic Negrito shares “Rolling Through California,” a blues-funk rallying cry that calls for solidarity and collective action in the wake of drought, water management challenges, accelerating climate change, and the growing calamity of California’s annual fire season.

On February 5th, independently owned record stores across the country will be selling a limited edition benefit compilation titled “A Benefit For Equality Vol. 1”. It celebrates black artistry in the blues genre with proceeds going to the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP). This one-time pressing is limited to only 500 copies.

Hardly Strictly Bluegrass announces the fourth round of musicians in this year’s Let The Music Play On, with Boz Scaggs, Jim Lauderdale, Fantastic Negrito, Rhiannon Giddens with Francesco Turrisi, and Robert Earl Keen.  Let the Music Play On is a celebration of roots music, honoring the 20th Anniversary of Hardly Strictly Bluegrass, airing Saturday featuring new performance footage, archival sets, and fans’ festival memories from previous years.
