A rollicking “Cumberland Blues,” the Appalachian-bluegrass-style Grateful Dead tune that opened the first of two shows at The Warfield in San Francisco on December 27, was a microcosm of the mighty capabilities of this formulation of Phil Lesh & Friends.

October is quickly rolling to a close, but not without the excitement of the Phil-O-Ween residency at the Capitol Theatre in Port Chester, NY.

The stardust has settled down so let’s recap the first-ever Sacred Rose Festival. Opening up a new bracket for Chicago by seasoned festival producers, Sacred Rose certainly had some highs and some lows but one thing is for sure Sacred Rose was one for the ages and one we hope will return.

The inaugural Sacred Rose Fest is less than 2 weeks away. For the first time ever there will be a weekend full of music as diverse as the Grateful Dead in its current form. Phil Lesh playing with Nels Cline and Jeff Tweedy as well as Karl Denson, Stu Allen, Grahame Lesh, Jeff Chimenti, and Elliott Peck all in one headlining slot!?! Khruangbin, JRAD, Umphrey’s McGee, Disco Biscuits, Lotus, Elliott Peck’s Midnight North, Holly Bowling, and the Gone Gone Beyond are kicking it all off?!? The list is exciting and inviting.

Music and merriment drifted from person to person on August 5 to 7, all wrapped in the loving embrace of the fabled tree-and-meadow acreage of Black Oak Ranch, aka the Hog Farm, for the second Days Between festival in far Northern California.

An ne’er before seen and heard assemblage of Phil Lesh & Friends came together at the Frost Amphitheater on the Stanford University campus for a dandy of a show on June 4.

With a keen eye on musical evolution, the band still looks back and savors their favorite moments. Selections from Levon Helm Studios celebrates a very special night for Midnight North: November 9, 2019 at Levon Helm Studios in Woodstock, NY.

Midnight North has released the second single from Selections from Levon Helm Studios. “As soon as Elliott showed us her original demo for “Coyote”, I knew the pressure was on us to perform this amazing song in a way that lived up to the magic of its composition. When we began working up the song, our November show at the mythical Levon Helm Studios became a dream debut opportunity for us," shared Grahame Lesh.
