We're really bad at keeping secrets around here so just imagine how hard it's been for us to contain our excitement about the 2 now-complete shows, once missing reels for more than 40 years, that have been selected to make up Dave's Picks Volume 6. The first major return of material to the vault since 2005's Houseboat Tapes, Dave's Picks Volume 6 will feature never-before-heard material from 2/2/70 Fox Theater, St. Louis, MO and 12/20/69 Fillmore Auditorium, San Francisco, CA.

DeadPhish Orchestra, yea, it’s exactly what it sounds like. If you’ve never heard of them and aren’t attracted by the name immediately don’t dismiss them quite so soon, because they probably have something your craving. Whether its complex jams topped with screaming guitar climaxes or the simple tunes that everyone can enjoy, DPO can and will provide the best of both worlds.

Seventeen years ago in September, the iconic American rock band the Grateful Dead announced a well-thought but difficult decision. Without their fallen band mate Jerry Garcia, who had passed that August, they would not be able to continue touring as the band Grateful Dead. It was a tough choice to make as certain band members were divided about what should become of their future tours or even the possibility of continuing without Jerry.

Break out the banjo, dust off the camcorder, and gather your family and friends around the fire this holiday to sing not only the songs of the season, but those of the Grateful Dead.

Dogfish Head Craft Brewery and Grateful Dead, two pioneers who built their followings by connecting directly with beer lovers and music lovers, are collaborating on the newest beer in Dogfish's line of off-centered ales. "American Beauty" is set to be strong pale ale with all-American hops and barley and a special ingredient inspired by the Dead and suggested by YOU. Did you trade a bushel of fresh clementines for tickets to a two-night stand at Long Beach Arena?

Normally, we'd say it's safer to stay at home on Black Friday. But since it also happens to be Record Store Day and we've got a prime selection from WINTERLAND 5/30/71 being released for the first time ever and it'll be on 180-gram vinyl as a limited edition double-LP set of 7500 copies, well, we strongly endorse heading out to your local mom-n-pop shop. Sourced from the original reels of 1/4" tape, WINTERLAND 5/30/71 was mastered by Jeffrey Norman, the vinyl lacquers were cut by Chris Bellman at Bernie Grundman Mastering and then pressed at RTI.

Fans of the Grateful Dead have yet another reason to rejoice as the Dark Star Orchestra team has released a soundboard recording of the first set of their October 13, 2012 performance at The Fillmore in San Francisco.
