Karina Rykman

Yesterday witnessed the first day of the first ever North Beach Music Festival, taking place at North Beach Bandshell in Miami, Florida. The day saw performances from some local acts like The Heavy Pets, and then later on saw headlining sets from the likes of The Motet, Karina Rykman, and Pigeons Playing Ping Pong.

NYC bassist Karina Rykman carves out an ethereal and groove-filled creative space to call her own with her sixth single “Arbitrary” out TODAY, August 13th, 2021. Listen HERE.

“Arbitrary” comes on the heels of previously-released singles “No Occasion,” “Dirty South,” “City Kids,” “Elevator,” and “Plants.”

South Florida received an uncanny treat in the form of a free Marco Benevento show at the beautiful Hollywood ArtsPark in Hollywood, Fl. A late Winter chill, by Florida’s standards, would do little to keep fans from coming to see keyboardist Marco Benevento, well-known amongst jam band aficionados for his role in the Grateful Dead cover band, Joe Russo’s Almost Dead.

Last Thursday, the Aggie Theatre in Fort Collins, Colorado became ground zero for Marco Benevento’s winter tour and the beginning of a three-night run through The Centennial State. Backed by the usual suspects Karina Rykman on bass and Dave Butler on drums, the trio delivered a 90-minute set of tunes pulled from each of Benevento’s solo releases.

Karina Rykman is one of those bass players that can fit into any musical scenario. With her infectious smile and general upbeat way about her, she brings life into every project she is a part of. Whether it be the trio of Marco Benevento or her own, Karina Rykman Experiment, you know the energy will be flowing with every bass note from Ms. Rykman.
