ARISE! Those are bold words that I have used in the title of this review, but I have thought long and hard about it, and I can rationalize and explain it. This inaugural festival is one that I will never miss. I was only there for Saturday night and Sunday afternoon, but I did not sleep, and in that short period of time, I was able to completely capture the magic and vibe of this festival.

ARISE Festival just announced headlining artist Michael Franti and Spearhead to complete the 100+ performer lineup that encompasses a variety of musicians, independent films, workshops and environmental speakers over three days and nights this August at Sunrise Ranch in Loveland, Colorado.
 

A major new festival known as The White River Arts & Music Festival (WARMfest) today announced that its inaugural three-day event would take place on Labor Day weekend Saturday, August 31; Sunday, September 1 and Monday, September 2 at Broad Ripple Park in Indianapolis.

BottleRock held its inaugural festival last weekend at Napa Valley’s Expo Fairgrounds under a scorching sun, but the heat wasn’t enough to keep the crowds away. Downtown Napa Valley became BottleRock Central, swarming with crossing guard-policemen and retailers pushing their goods, and in many cases, their parking lots. Nearby neighbors set up pizza and lemonade stands and signs dissuading BottleRockers from urinating on their lawns.

The 2013 Wanee Music Festival at the bucolic Spirit of the Suwannee Music Park (SOSMP) in Live Oak, FL radiated positive, feel good energy while feeding all present a delicious feast of melodies. In its 26th year, Old Settler’s Music Festival is putting together one of its hottest lineups ever, but fans must act now to grab discounted ticket packages before they end on midnight Jan. 15. Single-day ticket sales begin Jan. 16 for the four-day bluegrass, roots and Americana festival, which takes place April 18-21 at the Salt Lick Pavilion and Camp Ben McCulloch south of Austin and features more than 30 acts.
