My Morning Jacket has unveiled plans for an upcoming US headline tour. The dates begin April 19 at Memphis, TN’s Orpheum Theatre and then continue through September. Special guests throughout the tour will include Madison Cunningham, Indigo de Souza, and Joy Oladokun.

I drove down to Live Oak, Florida the Thursday before last with a close friend, for what was their third Hulaween experience and my very first one. My friend cautioned me at one point: “I wouldn’t tell people this is your first Hulaween.” That made sense at the time, considering much of Hulaween’s attendance were probably loyal returning patrons, who were in the know about what this place and weekend are like (and there’s something to be said for that). But now looking back, I think: why not?

By leveraging its iconic past and leaning into an innovative future, Gibson has set the stage for the next era of sound for present and future generations. Gibson has teamed with the vocalist, guitarist, producer, and primary songwriter for My Morning Jacket, Jim James whose music fuses rock and country with experimental touches. Jim collaborated with Gibson to create his first-ever signature guitar, the Gibson Jim James ES-335.

After a tumultuous and trying year away, the amazing and one of a kind musical and artistic event Suwannee Hulaween will return this year, set to take place once again in Live Oak, Florida from October 27 through October 31. In a land of big time festivals, Hulaween is one of the best.

Last weekend’s Railbird Festival which took place at Keeneland Horse Racing Course in Lexington, Kentucky, took some hard hits from the media as the first day seemed to be filled with long lines, high temperatures, and lots of thirsty concertgoers. It was the second time the festival has been held, after being forced to cancel the 2020 event due to the pandemic.
