Pokey LaFarge

Pokey LaFarge will return with Rhumba Country on May 10, 2024, via New West Records. The 10–song set was co-produced by Chris Seefried, Elliot Bergman, and LaFarge and was recorded in Los Angeles, CA & Chicago, IL. On Rhumba Country, LaFarge reveals his newly heightened devotion to making music that channels pure joy.

Third Man Records is happy to announce a new partnership with one of their favorite musicians out there working today, Pokey LaFarge. Pokey and his band bring a focus and energy to the American Roots genre with infectious original material that sits at the crossroads of early jazz, country blues and western swing.

Nursing a cold and wanting to escape a chilly summer night in San Francisco, I ducked into Café du Nord to hear some music from the roots of America. Pokey LaFarge and the South City Three played an invigorating set in the cozy basement venue. A former speakeasy, Café du Nord is the perfect venue to see a band that calls back to early 20th century music.

Hot off a busy summer that included dates opening for Jack White and Old Crow Medicine Show, as well as festival and club appearances across North America and Europe, Pokey LaFarge and the South City Three will perform in select U.S. and Canadian markets in August and September 2012.
